A Short History of Spain
A Short History of Spain, written by Mary Platt Parmele in the late 19th century, provides a concise overview of Spain's complex history. The narrative begins with the early inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula and traces the influences of various civilizations, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Visigoths, and Moors. Parmele highlights the region's geographical features and material wealth that attracted these ancient cultures, setting the stage for a rich tale of conquest and cultural exchange that shaped modern Spain.
