Windy Hill
Two children arrive at their cousin's remote farm expecting a summer visit, but something has gone terribly wrong. Their cousin is a stranger now: jittery, secretive, barely aware they're there. The adults refuse to explain. So the children begin to dig, following fragments of story from an old beekeeper and his daughter, piecing together a feud that has festered in Medford Valley for over a hundred years. What they uncover forces them to reckon with their own family's legacy: honor twisted into stubborn pride, and a hunger for wealth that has darkened three generations. This is a book about the weight we inherit, the secrets our ancestors kept, and how the past shapes who we become.
