Water Baptism: A Pagan and Jewish Rite but Not Christian, Proven by Scripture and History Confirmed by the Lives of Saints Who Were Never Baptized with Water

Written in the early 20th century, 'Water Baptism' by James H. Moon critiques the traditional Christian understanding of water baptism, arguing that it is rooted in pagan and Jewish practices rather than a command from Jesus Christ. Moon examines biblical accounts, particularly those involving John the Baptist and Jesus, to assert that the true baptism is that of the Holy Spirit. He contends that early Christians may have adopted water baptism due to their Jewish heritage rather than divine instruction, advocating for a focus on spiritual baptism as emphasized in the New Testament.
