Vigilante Days and Ways

Vigilante Days and Ways, written by Nathaniel Pitt Langford and published in 1890, is a historical account of lawlessness and vigilante justice in the early settlement of Montana and Idaho. The book details the violent conditions of mining camps, where crime was rampant and individuals formed vigilance committees to combat the lawlessness that plagued their communities. Langford, who was an explorer and historian involved in the early years of Montana's gold rush, provides a vivid portrayal of the struggles faced by pioneers and the moral complexities surrounding their actions against outlaws.
