Twinkly Eyes at Valley Farm
A young bear cub named Twinkly Eyes has a problem: he's grown too fond of the sugar camp, and one night, his curiosity finally traps him. But the boy from Valley Farm sees something worth saving in the scruffy little creature, and instead of turning him loose, he brings the cub home. What follows is a tender story of unlikely friendship: the boy plays harmonica to calm his new companion, and the bear cub, despite his best intentions, keeps finding ways to get into delightful trouble. Through encounters with porcupines, foxes, owls, and a grumpy neighbor bear named Chet-woof, Twinkly Eyes learns what every young creature must discover: that trust is earned, freedom has boundaries, and love sometimes comes on two legs. Chaffee writes with a naturalist's eye and a storyteller's heart, letting the wilderness and its creatures speak for themselves while slipped in gentle lessons about patience, curiosity, and the bonds that form when two lonely souls find each other.
