Toy Craft

Written in the early 20th century, 'Toy Craft' by Leon H. Baxter is a practical guide aimed at children, offering detailed instructions for constructing various wooden toys, such as dolls, carts, and furniture. The book emphasizes the importance of hands-on craftsmanship and creativity, encouraging children to appreciate handmade items over mass-produced toys. Baxter discusses the historical context of toy-making and its benefits for children's mental growth, arguing that self-made toys foster a sense of value and care, countering the destructive habits associated with easily broken factory-made toys.
