The Three Bears

A little girl with golden hair wanders into the woods and finds something extraordinary: a cottage belonging to three bears, each with their own chair, bowl of porridge, and bed. What follows is a dance of small intrusions. She tastes each porridge, finds one too hot, one too cold, one just right. She sits in each chair, breaks one. She lies down in each bed, falls asleep in the smallest. When the bears return home, they find their space violated by a sleeping stranger. The story crackles with tension as the three voices boom in unison: "Someone's been eating my porridge!" "Someone's been sitting in my chair!" "Someone's been sleeping in my bed!" Goldenhair wakes, sees the bears, and flees through the window. The tale never explains why a girl wanders uninvited into a bear's home, or why the bears speak in perfect rhyme. That's precisely the point. This is a story that runs on fairy tale logic, where curiosity carries consequences and politeness is its own reward. It has survived for two centuries because it understands something essential about childhood: the pull of forbidden doors, the thrill of getting away with something, and the terror of getting caught.
