The Story of Rustem, and Other Persian Hero Tales from Firdusi, published in 1909 by Elizabeth D. Renninger, is a collection of retold ancient Persian legends derived from the Shah-Nameh, the epic poem by Firdusi. This compilation focuses on legendary figures such as Rustem, Feridoun, and Zohak, exploring themes of heroism, valor, and justice. The narrative begins with a librarian who aims to inspire local boys through storytelling, highlighting the importance of these tales in both cultural education and moral development.
