The Spirit and the Word: A Treatise on the Holy Spirit in the Light of a Rational Interpretation of the Word of Truth

The Spirit and the Word, written by Z. T. Sweeney and first published in 1919, is a Christian treatise that examines the nature and significance of the Holy Spirit through a rational interpretation of Biblical scripture. Sweeney emphasizes the Holy Spirit's role in the lives of believers, its manifestations in the Old and New Testaments, and its unique position within Christianity compared to other religions. The work aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Holy Spirit's mission and workings, focusing on biblical texts rather than philosophical interpretations.
