The Spanish Pioneers

The Spanish Pioneers, written by Charles Fletcher Lummis in the late 19th century, is a historical account that highlights the contributions of Spanish explorers and pioneers in the discovery and colonization of the Americas from 1522 to 1548. Lummis aims to correct the historical narrative that has often marginalized these figures, emphasizing their heroism and significant achievements in shaping the New World. The book showcases notable explorers like Columbus, Cortés, and Pizarro, arguing for their profound impact on exploration and the establishment of civilizations in both the United States and Latin America.
