The Seven Sleuths' Club

This 1920s children's mystery captures something timeless: the fierce joy of a group of girls determined to prove they're just as clever as the boys. Set in the picturesque village of Sunnyside at a girls' seminary, the story follows Merry Lee and her friends as they form their own detective club, the 'Seven Sleuths,' after discovering the boys have one. What begins as a playful rivalry soon becomes a genuine quest for real adventure. The girls navigate humorous encounters with new characters, including the reluctant wealthy newcomer Geraldine Morrison, whose haughty demeanor provides delightful friction. Through wintry lanes, schoolyard intrigue, and their own ingenuity, these young sleuths discover that friendship and courage matter more than any mystery they might solve. The charm lies in its infectious spirit of camaraderie, its period-specific details of 1920s school life, and the simple but resonant message that determination and friendship can overcome any obstacle. Perfect for readers who love old-fashioned mysteries with plucky heroines and gentle humor.
