The Safety First Club and the Flood

When floodwaters rise in their small town, the Safety First Club faces its greatest challenge yet. Sam Parker and his friends have always taken their club motto seriously, but now they'll discover what it truly means to put safety first when lives are at stake. As the river breaches its banks, these resourceful young people must balance their careful training with the courage required to help neighbors trapped by rising waters. The story pulses with the tension of a community in crisis, the urgency of rescue, and the quiet heroism of children who refuse to sit back and watch. Nichols writes with genuine affection for his young characters, letting them make hard choices and live with the consequences. The flood becomes both literal and metaphorical: a force that tests friendships, reveals character, and proves that responsibility isn't about avoiding all risk but knowing when to act. This is adventure literature with a conscience, delivering excitement and practical wisdom in equal measure. Young readers will find characters they can root for and a story that respects their capacity for bravery.
