The Roman Hat Mystery

The curtain falls not on the play, but on a murder most foul at New York's Roman Theater. Amidst the gasps of the bewildered audience, a crooked lawyer is found dead in his seat, his head strangely bare. Enter Inspector Richard Queen and his brilliant, mystery-novelist son, Ellery, a duo whose intellectual prowess is as sharp as any blade. Their investigation quickly zeroes in on a peculiar missing item: the victim's top hat. This seemingly minor detail becomes a thread that unravels a labyrinthine plot, leading father and son deep into the glittering, yet shadowed, world of high society and the city's underbelly, where everyone has a motive and no one is quite what they seem.
