The Road to En-Dor: Being an Account of How Two Prisoners of War at Yozgad in Turkey Won Their Way to Freedom

The Road to En-Dor, published in 1920 by E. H. Jones, is a memoir detailing the escape of two British prisoners of war during World War I. Captured after the siege of Kut-el-Amara, Jones and his companion, Lieutenant C. W. Hill, resort to spiritualism and deception to gain their freedom from a Turkish prison camp in Yozgad. The narrative combines humor and suspense as they convince both fellow inmates and their captors that they are communicating with spirits via a Ouija board, ultimately leading to their escape. This work is notable for its unique blend of personal narrative and the absurdity of war experiences.
