The Making of the New Testament
The Making of the New Testament, written by Benjamin Wisner Bacon in the early 20th century, provides a scholarly historical account of the formation and canonization of the New Testament. Bacon examines the paradox of early Christianity's initial rejection of rigid canonical structures, which later evolved into the acceptance of a formal canon. He emphasizes the transformative roles of Jesus and Paul in shaping these texts, highlighting their impact on the understanding of faith and God's relationship with humanity. This work is notable for its critical exploration of the historical evolution of early Christian writings.
