The Hashish Eater

In the mid-19th century, a young Fitz Hugh Ludlow, fresh from his literary encounters with the exotic allure of hashish, stumbled upon a jar of cannabis extract. Driven by insatiable curiosity, he consumed a spoonful, embarking on a psychedelic odyssey that would forever alter his perception. *The Hashish Eater* is his groundbreaking attempt to chart the uncharted territory of cannabis intoxication, detailing the bizarre distortions of perspective, imagination, and self that unfurled under its influence. Lacking a lexicon for such unprecedented experiences, Ludlow pushes the boundaries of language, crafting vivid, often fantastical, metaphors to convey the ineffable.
