The Great War of 189-: A Forecast

The Great War of 189-: A Forecast, written by P. H. Colomb and first published in 1893, is a speculative military narrative that anticipates a significant conflict among European powers, particularly in the Balkans. The story begins with an assassination attempt on Prince Ferdinand of Bulgaria, which heightens diplomatic tensions and foreshadows a larger war. By blending historical figures with fictional events, Colomb explores the intricate political landscape of nationalism and interventionism, providing insights into the potential perils of international relations on the brink of conflict.
