The Good Companions
Meet Jess Oakroyd, a factory man yearning for escape; Elizabeth Trant, a gentlewoman adrift after her father's death; and Inigo Jollifant, a schoolteacher stifled by routine. Each, in their own way, breaks free from their ordinary lives, embarking on separate, picaresque journeys across England. Their paths converge when they encounter the struggling Dinky Doos, a traveling 'concert party' in desperate need of a refresh. Together, these unlikely companions form a new troupe, 'The Good Companions,' determined to find fame and fortune on the road, even as the golden age of vaudeville gives way to the burgeoning popularity of radio and cinema.
