The Books of the New Testament
1901
The Books of the New Testament, written by Leighton Pullan and first published in 1901, is a comprehensive introduction to the New Testament. It provides an accessible overview of its contents, historical significance, and the formation of the New Testament canon, emphasizing its role as a record of the new covenant established by Jesus Christ. Pullan discusses the linguistic background, noting that while early Christian writings were often in Aramaic, the New Testament is primarily in Greek. This work serves as a foundational text for understanding the unity and diversity of the New Testament writings.
