The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Old Testament — Part 1

The Douay-Rheims Old Testament — Part 1, first published in 1609, is an English translation of the Latin Vulgate, attributed to various authors, including Moses for the Pentateuch. This foundational religious text encompasses historical, poetic, and theological writings central to the Judeo-Christian tradition, beginning with the Book of Genesis, which details the Creation story and early biblical narratives. It introduces key figures such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, and Moses, establishing themes of creation, sin, and divine covenant that are pivotal throughout the scriptures.
