The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Book 70: 2 John: The Challoner Revision

''The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Book 70: 2 John'' is a religious text attributed to St. John the Apostle, composed in the early Christian period, likely during the late 1st century. This book is part of the New Testament and focuses on themes of truth, love, and the importance of adhering to authentic Christian doctrine. It aims to offer guidance and encouragement to its audience, specifically addressing the challenges posed by false teachings within the early Christian communities. In this brief but profound epistle, St. John writes to a woman named Electa, commending her and her family for their faithfulness and urging them to continue in love and adherence to the teachings of Christ. He emphasizes the importance of walking in truth and warns against the dangers posed by deceivers who deny Christ's incarnation. John advises his audience to distance themselves from such heretics and stresses that maintaining the correct doctrine is essential for receiving divine reward. The letter closes with a personal touch, as he expresses his hope to meet them in person, highlighting the joy of fellowship in truth and love.
