The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Book 42: Aggeus: The Challoner Revision

The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Book 42: Aggeus is a religious text from the Old Testament, first published in 1609. This book, part of the Douay-Rheims translation based on the Latin Vulgate, contains the prophet Aggeus's messages urging the people of Judah to resume the construction of the Temple in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. Notable for its historical significance during a time of religious reform, this text emphasizes themes of prophecy, spiritual restoration, and communal responsibility. The Challoner revision, completed in the 18th century, modernized the language while preserving the original meanings.
