The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Book 21: Psalms: The Challoner Revision

The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Book 21: Psalms, first published in 1609, is a collection of sacred songs and prayers primarily attributed to King David. This text, part of the Douay-Rheims Bible, reflects themes of worship, lament, and gratitude, exploring the human condition in relation to God. The Psalms articulate a range of human emotions and divine interactions, serving as a foundational element of faith for readers. The Challoner Revision, completed in the 18th century, modernized the language while preserving the original meanings, making it a significant version for English-speaking Catholics.
