''The Bible, Douay-Rheims, Book 15: 1 Esdras'' is a historical account traditionally attributed to Ezra, likely composed around the 5th century BC. It details the return of Jewish exiles from Babylon and their efforts to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, emphasizing themes of identity, restoration, and fidelity to God's commandments. This book is part of the Douay-Rheims Bible, first published in 1609, which was the first English translation of the Bible for Catholic readers, revised by Bishop Richard Challoner in the 18th century.
