The Apricot Tree

'The Apricot Tree' is a moral tale published in 1851, likely during the early Victorian era, under the direction of the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge. The story follows a boy named Ned who tends to an apricot tree, dreaming of selling its fruit to buy his grandmother a warm cloak. When the tree is vandalized and its fruit stolen by a boy named Tom, Ned chooses forgiveness over revenge, leading to a transformative friendship. This children's literature piece emphasizes kindness, empathy, and moral values in the face of adversity.
