The Anti-Slavery Alphabet

The Anti-Slavery Alphabet, published in 1846 by the Philadelphia Female Anti-Slavery Society, is an educational children's book aimed at raising awareness about slavery. Written by Hannah and Mary Townsend, it presents the alphabet with corresponding illustrations and verses that highlight the evils of slavery and the importance of compassion and activism. Each letter represents a key theme related to the abolitionist movement, making it a unique tool for educating young readers about the fight for freedom and equality.
