The American Missionary — Volume 42, No. 9, published in September 1888, is a historical periodical documenting the efforts of the American Missionary Association in education and social reform among African American, Native American, and immigrant communities. This issue highlights the importance of Christian education in promoting literacy and moral character while addressing challenges such as financial difficulties and racial discrimination. It serves as both a record of missionary activities and a call for community support to further their mission of social justice and equality through faith-based initiatives.
