Ten Englishmen of the Nineteenth Century

Published in the early 20th century, 'Ten Englishmen of the Nineteenth Century' by James Richard Joy offers biographical sketches of ten significant figures in 19th-century England, focusing on their contributions to public life, politics, and military affairs. Joy's work aims to illuminate the broader historical context of the era, including key events such as the struggle against Napoleon and notable socio-political changes. The book emphasizes the importance of these individuals in shaping modern British history, while intentionally excluding artists and scholars, suggesting their roles will be explored in future works.
