Story of Rimini
The Story of Rimini is a long poem by Leigh Hunt, published in 1816, that recounts the tragic tale of Francesca da Rimini, inspired by Dante's Inferno. Written during Hunt's imprisonment for slandering the Prince Regent, the poem is noted for its vivid storytelling and emotional depth. It is considered one of Hunt's most significant works, despite his position outside the first rank of lyric poets. The poem is dedicated to Lord Byron and showcases Hunt's artistic sensibilities and dramatic scene-setting.
