Short Poetry Collection 138
Twenty-five voices, one shared passion: this is poetry read aloud by the people who love it. Collected from LibriVox volunteers in November 2014, this anthology captures something rare - the intimate act of a stranger bringing words to life for no reason but that they must. The poems span styles and eras, but they're united by that fundamental impulse: someone choosing to speak verse into the world. Some are famous, some are lesser-known, all are given breath. What emerges is a listening experience rather than a reading one - the rhythm of the lines, the pauses between phrases, the unique timbre of each voice. It's poetry as it was originally meant to be heard: personal, present, alive. For anyone who has ever felt poetry worked better spoken than read, or who wonders what a poem sounds like when someone else loves it enough to perform it.
