Satan's Diary
"Satan's Diary" is the final work of Russian author Leonid Andreyev, completed shortly before his death in September 1919. This satirical novel features Satan, who takes the form of an American millionaire, as he travels through Europe seeking amusement and adventure. Through his journey, Andreyev critiques human hypocrisy, cruelty, and the deceptive nature of virtue, ultimately portraying Satan as outwitted and humiliated by humanity. The work reflects Andreyev's disillusionment with life and society during a tumultuous period in Russian history.
