Sanine

Vladimir Sanine, a charismatic and unburdened young man, returns to his provincial family home in early 20th-century Russia, throwing himself into a whirlwind of social gatherings, intellectual debates, and romantic entanglements. Surrounded by a circle of friends grappling with the era's profound religious and political uncertainties, Sanine champions a radical philosophy of individual freedom and desire, challenging the rigid moral codes and societal expectations of the time. His audacious pursuit of self-gratification and rejection of conventional morality sends ripples through the community, exposing the hypocrisy and simmering tensions beneath the surface of polite society, particularly concerning sexuality and personal autonomy.
