Romancero Viejo
Romancero Viejo is a collection of short medieval poems originating from Spanish epic ballads, dating back to the 14th century. These poems were transmitted orally until the 19th century, when Agustín Durán began compiling them in his 1821 work, Romancero General. The collection reflects the oral tradition of Spanish literature and includes many romances from the 15th century, preserved by collectors who sold them at fairs. It is notable for its role in reviving interest in medieval literature during the Romantic period.
