Personal Recollections of Pardee Butler

Personal Recollections of Pardee Butler is a historical account written in the late 19th century by Pardee Butler, a preacher and community leader in early America. The narrative explores his upbringing, family background, and the significant events that shaped his character and faith during a time of social and religious upheaval from 1854 to 1861. The book includes insights from his daughter, Mrs. Rosetta B. Hastings, who adds context to Butler's modesty and the challenges he faced. It reflects on the emergence of Christian movements and the controversies surrounding slavery in 19th-century Kansas.
