Personal Experiences of S. O. Susag

This is a rugged, unvarnished spiritual memoir from a Norwegian-American pioneer minister who crossed an ocean and crossed into something far stranger. S. O. Susag recounts his unlikely journey from a struggling childhood in Norway to the pulleys and tent revivals of American frontier faith, where he witnessed healings, salvations, and encounters with the Holy Spirit that defied easy explanation. The prose is plain, unpretentious, sometimes stumbling in ways that only make it more honest. There's no polished theology here, just a man trying to render the inexplicable: the moment a prayer broke a fever, the night a stranger walked out of a revival service whole. For readers curious about the raw, everyday texture of charismatic Christianity before it became a movement, this is a time capsule. It is for anyone who has ever wondered what it means to bet everything on the impossible.
