On the Firing Line in Education

On the Firing Line in Education, written by Adoniram Judson Ladd in the early 20th century, addresses pressing educational issues in the United States following World War I. Ladd critiques existing teaching practices and advocates for reforms that prioritize moral and physical development in children. He highlights significant shortcomings in education, such as high illiteracy rates and health concerns, and argues for a comprehensive approach to prepare students for a complex society.
