Omar Resung
Omar Resung, published in 1901 by Charles G. Blanden, is a verse adaptation of Justin McCarthy's prose translation of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Blanden, a member of the Chicago poets, employs an eight-line verse structure with a rhyming scheme of ABABCDCD, focusing on the elegance of the lines rather than original concepts. While it may not match the depth of more renowned versions, such as those by Edward Fitzgerald, it offers a melodious interpretation that transports readers to the ancient Middle East.
