Ollanta - Drama Quichua en Tres Actos y en Verso

Ollantay is a drama originally written in colonial Quechua, believed to be of Inca origin, making it one of the earliest expressions of Quechua literature. The play centers on Ollantay, a plebeian warrior elevated to nobility, who falls in love with Cusi Coyllur, the daughter of Inca Pachacútec. Their forbidden love leads to conflict with the Inca, highlighting themes of social class and the consequences of ambition. The oldest manuscript dates back to the 18th century, attributed to priest Antonio Valdés, though the true authorship remains unknown.
