Nabuco
Nabuco is a dramatic poem by Ferdinando Fontana, written in the late 19th century. It centers on Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, exploring themes of pride, madness, and the consequences of warfare. The poem critiques militarism and the societal costs of conflict, recounting Nebuchadnezzar's conquests and eventual downfall into insanity. Through characters like Daìra and Argiasp, it weaves personal conflicts into a broader commentary on civilization and the need for peace.
