My Colored Battalion

My Colored Battalion, published in 1920 by Warner A. Ross, is a historical account of the 365th Infantry Regiment, composed entirely of African American soldiers during World War I. As their commander, Ross recounts the battalion's experiences, emphasizing their courage, discipline, and significant contributions in various military campaigns, particularly near Metz. The book serves to highlight the achievements and rightful recognition of these soldiers, challenging prevailing stereotypes about colored troops and advocating for their place in American military history.
