Mr. Bamboo and the Honorable Little God: A Christmas Story

In a Japanese mission school at the turn of the century, a young boy named Take Nishimura encounters Christmas for the first time. Drawn to the foreign customs and the story of a child God born in a manger, he prepares eagerly for the celebration, crafting gifts and decorations with pure, imaginative joy. When a beautiful doll arrives at the school, Take mistakes it for the embodiment of this "Honorable Little God" he has heard so much about. Despite his failing health, his spirit remains radiant as he prays to the doll with heartfelt devotion. This is a story about the way a child's innocent wonder can bridge worlds and find the sacred in unexpected places.
