Morphological Variation in a Population of the Snake, Tantilla Gracilis Baird and Girard

Morphological Variation in a Population of the Snake, Tantilla Gracilis Baird and Girard, is a scientific study by Laurence M. Hardy published in the late 20th century. It examines the morphological traits of 246 specimens of the flat-headed snake, collected in Kansas during the late 1930s to early 1940s. The research highlights significant variations in external and maxillary characteristics, challenging previous classifications and suggesting that these differences do not justify the recognition of separate subspecies. This work contributes to the understanding of reptilian variation and taxonomy.
