More Stories of the Three Pigs

There's something irresistible about a pig family with names like Mother Grunty Pig, Blacky-ears, and Little-wee Pig. This 1921 collection gathers five gentle adventures set in the charming world of Pigland, where pigs take trips to the bustling city of Styford, celebrate Christmas with neighbors, and embark on mischievous picnics. The stories brim with the kind of simple, wholesome humor that defined early twentieth-century children's literature: Mrs. Pinky Pig comes calling, Mother Grunty goes visiting, and lessons about obedience and consequence unfold through playful mishaps rather than heavy-handed moralizing. There's no wolf at the door here, no dramatic showdowns, just warm, slice-of-life moments from a simpler era of storytelling. These aren't the three pigs of fairy tale fame; they're something quieter and perhaps more comforting: a mother pig and her curious little ones, navigating everyday adventures with the gentle wisdom of a 1920s playground.
