Misread Passages of Scriptures

Misread Passages of Scriptures, written by James Baldwin Brown and first published in 1869, is a theological work that addresses common misunderstandings of key Biblical texts. Through a series of sermons, Brown explores how different theological perspectives influence interpretations of scripture, aiming to clarify misconceptions that can impede spiritual growth. The book begins with a focus on the phrase 'My kingdom is not of this world' from the Gospel of John, examining its significance and the various interpretations that have emerged over time. Brown's work emphasizes the importance of understanding scripture free from the biases of theological schools.
