Memories of Old Montana

This is a man's raw account of growing up on the American frontier when it was still being won. Con Price's childhood in Iowa and South Dakota in the 1870s gives way to something wilder: a cattle drive into Montana that changes everything. What follows is a life measured in dust, blood, and the high plains wind. He survives Indian encounters that could have ended his story before it began. He rides through the cattle wars, when the range was being carved up between men who understood that whoever controlled the grass controlled the future. And through it all, there's a frontier romance that reminds you this was a land where people actually lived, loved, and died. Price writes with the plain-spoken honesty of a man who doesn't need to embellish what he lived through. This isn't a western myth. It's the real thing, remembered by someone who was there.
