Maude
Maude is a novella by Christina Rossetti, written in 1850 and published posthumously in 1897. The story follows 15-year-old Maude Foster, a serious girl whose poetry reflects the conflict between religious devotion and worldly desires. Scholars regard the work as semi-autobiographical and it features several of Rossetti's early verses, which were later included in her poetry collections.
