Matin, Kaisun Ja Kissan Retket: Y.m. Lastenrunoja

''Matin, Kaisun ja kissan retket : y.m. lastenrunoja by Antti Rytkönen'' is a collection of children’s poems written in the early 20th century. The book centers on young friends and their animal companions in Finnish nature, mixing playful moments with gentle danger; its likely topic is the joys, trials, and small moral lessons of childhood friendship and the turning seasons. In the main cycle, siblings Matti and Kaisu and their sleek black cat set off on a spring ski outing, delight in gathering willow catkins, and rescue Kaisu when she falls into a hidden meltwater pit; later a fierce dog attacks, the cat bravely drives it off but is injured, and at home it is nursed with coffee, bandages, and quiet until it heals. The companion piece, Tuulikki ja Topi, follows a girl and her steadfast grey dog from a carefree summer to schooltime: Topi trails her to the station, panics at the roaring train, and is later found battered and bandaged, leading Tuulikki to urge prudence and to value the safety of home.
