Lives of the Fur Folk

Written in the early 20th century by Maud D. Haviland, 'Lives of the Fur Folk' is a collection of animal stories that anthropomorphize various wild creatures. The narrative centers on Redpad, a fox navigating life in Knockdane Woods, alongside other characters like Fluff Button the Rabbit and Grimalkin the Cat. Through their adventures, the book explores themes of instinct, survival, and moral lessons, blending natural history with charming fantasy. The vivid depictions of nature and animal behavior evoke empathy for the protagonists of the animal kingdom.
