Last Drive

Last Drive is an early mystery novel by Rex Stout, published before his famous Nero Wolfe series. The story revolves around a golfer who collapses on the course, initially thought to have suffered a heart attack, but is later revealed to have been poisoned. The president of the country club, Canby Rankin, takes it upon himself to solve the murder. This work is notable for being an inspiration for Stout's first Nero Wolfe novel, Fer-de-Lance.
