Korea

Published in 1904, 'Korea' by A. Hamilton provides a historical account of Korea's socio-political landscape during a critical period marked by foreign influence, particularly from Japan and Russia. The book discusses the challenges Korea faced in its quest for independence and modernization, including the lack of accurate naval surveys that led to treacherous navigation along its coastline. Hamilton also explores the unique geography, culture, and beliefs of the Korean people, making this work notable for its insights into Korea's struggles and interactions with foreign powers at the turn of the 20th century.
